Love Call My Agent. Re: Compounding... There's so much to know! And so many corporate machinations that actually work against specific healthcare needs. More soon!
I BLOODY LOVE Nikita, and also the US remake with Bridget Fonda, Point of No Return. Anne Bancroft is the older woman in that one, and while the action of the scene between the two of them is similar, it lacks the deep French reverence for older women you called out in Nikita. Can't wait till compounding pharmacies are more common in the US. I think that Everything All At Once as a peri-metaphor is awesome and I'm going to use that!
Oh, I was WORRIED no one would get this post, so phew!!! My two best finds came later last night in the online edit: FrenchPharmacy.com for niche items you can often only get in Paris and then the BOOK... Killers of a Certain Age! It will surely go down as part of the meno-literature canon... and is just so fun for a rainy night!
A great analysis. It is so much more than a society that accepts older women, it is the attitude of women themselves. Though French women do have a much narrower acceptance of what is suitable fashion. Of course, they use their limited palette to great effectiveness, and French (and Italian) women look very elegant. British women never look as good, but I love the freedom and acceptance of individual fashion choices in the UK. Vivienne Westwood would never have made it in France.
Ah, thanks. I love Vivienne Westwood but I also love the bucolic frilliness of Boden or Needle & Thread or Ghost--if the dress code calls for it :) There's a whole world to be experienced when you step outside the Skims Kardashian hell-bubble, so prevalent in the US, (cue bitter lol.) And I will never not adore my Barbour coat for soggy SF mornings :)
French Hollywood is the best-- Nikita and Call My Agent! Youβre speaking my binge language. Looking forward to your compound pharmacy post!
