Ooooh, I love the #MENOSHARING... as a hashtag. We have start using. I deliberately did not want to impose our wordmark on Badu's image as her gaze is so POWERFUL on its own. I would LOVE to see a whole genre of MenoMemoir emerge the way it is right now in fiction with MADGE, Ani Di Franco, and Sarah recounting. There's still so much fear... but they are in their Empress Ages and like Queen Charlotte, "their stories are still untold" in so many ways.
I also included the Erykah Badu link in Womancake's weekend roundups, its so good! Can you imagine what a cultural shift could be wrought if Madonna, Janet Jackson, Cher and I don't know... Sarah MacLachlan started talking openly about their meno journeys? Particularly Madonna. That would have been something. I must add to this hilarious essay that my sense of smell is heightened. Is this true for my meno sistahs? I thought hubby had a new scent. But wait, it’s my olfactory that’s changed!
Lol... ok, I swear this is true and I'm hoping it's temporary... but I now have "BALL-dar"... which is an ultra-heightened sensitivity to testicle sweat. It's like gross science--they're gonna wanna study me at NASA, lol. I can barely do boy laundry.
