Fellow Empresses, How the hell are you?
There we were, Sunday afternoon of Cinco de Mayoโall gathered around the Zoom with our mocktails, margaritas, and guac. I swear some of us are starting to feel like theย Brady Bunch.ย But we had this incredible opportunity to spend the afternoon talking with one of the nation's top five menopause experts and ask her anything. We'd decided to focus on alternatives to HRT becauseย notย everyone fits the profile, and we don't want to see those of us super flashers left behindโnot when there are so many new alternatives out on the market, never mind other simple hacks, and nifty technologies to help you get through it all. And it's not just about hot flashes. Thereโs sleep, sex, weight, genitourinary issues, skin, hair loss, chronic fatigue, mood, anxiety, and confidenceโall of it. There's so much that goes on in this decade-long, all-systems transformation. It's hella tricky business.
So, with the grace and permission of the group, they generously allowed me to record the session (so don't be buttheads) because we talked about everything from new solutions to old solutions to more woo-woo solutions to supplements to tubs of lubeโyou name itโwe talked about it. And if we didn't talk about it, Heather is available toย talkย with you about it as she practices nationwide. You can find herย here.
The playback session is available to paying members ofย The Empress. I do my best to keep most things on the site available to all members because I believe, as midlife women, we have a right to state-of-the-art health care, socioeconomic power, and cultural visibility, but the reality is this work takes time, so it would be wonderful if we could hit a goal of 30 new paying subscribers this month. That would help keep the lights on and keep us moving forward with new topics, product reviews, and thought leader interviews that give midlife women the richer narratives they deserve. We know resources are stretched thin for many these days, but we would be grateful if you could step up for the cause.
And now, without further adoโฆ Dr Heather Bartos!
