Wow, so much to love here! Can't wait for all the upcoming books and events. Steph's project sounds particularly amazing, and I know a TON of GenX women who will benefit from her work. Passing along links.
Divorce stories - At our first mediation my soon to be ex, who was going after the money I'd inherited from my father, turned up in my dead father's hand made suit that he'd stolen from the wardrobe. Yup. On seeing it, and him, I lost control and literally launched myself across the table at him.
Good God, I would have stroked out from PURE Johnny-come-lately-rage! 😬 Second-worst Divo moment - My tiny play was opening at the Geffen in LA. Right before the red carpet, my ex butt-dialed our family answering machine and left a recording of him waking up at the new girlfriend's house and asking to borrow her toothbrush--and our daughters heard. Grim business! I bawled my eyes out on what should have been a joyous night. I so wanted approval back then. Thank goodness that's done. Oof.
It's time to rewrite the narrative about divorced women; I've been divorced for 15 years and never been happier. Choosing to end my marriage was one of the best decisions of my life, even though I was scared to death to leave. My life has turned out so much better than I could have imagined. 🦋
Isn't it amazing how the scariest decisions can turn out to be the best? I never want to hear the phrase, "Those poor kids come from a broken home" EVER again. So agree 100% on rewriting the narrative. The funny thing is, as a person--I've grown into a really decent team player over the years and so I don't view marriage negatively anymore.
Steph rules!!!! I love this quote so very much: “Under no circumstances should you be afraid of your 40s, 50s, and beyond. Don’t be scared. You are still relevant, beautiful, and significant. What’s more, you are powerful and wise and vibrant and you are coming into your own. You are the one to be feared.”

Alicia, thank you so much! That means the world to me. XO
Love her niche. While I am not divorced Steph’s podcast and Substack sound like a great place for women to connect and hear other’s stories. Bravo.
I appreciate that so much, thank you! ❤️
