Lots to love here! Good god, I'd love to see many more Meno-journeys portrayed in the media. Maybe Empress Editions can publish one, and we can all be producers and turn it into a big hit movie :)
Alisa and Lisa-Marie, thank for this great Empress Questionnaire. I love getting a sneak peak into another woman's mid life journey. Little things, like I've always wondered if Vivaia footwear is a comfortable as it looks and I'm glad to find someone who loves a new box of pens like I do!
Alisa, this is such an important North Star for women: “I found myself desperate for a narrative where I wasn’t just a vessel for someone else’s journey but a heroine embarking on my own extraordinary expedition.”
And thank you for introducing us to the “grower of Heroines!”
Power surges! What a great reframing! Loved reading this article and the reiteration that we can most definitely define the blueprint of our lives and take agency for how we want to live in midlife and beyond. Thank you for being an inspiration! 🦋
Thank you for sharing Lisa's work. I had not heard of her until now. I have lead through several book "journeys" through Maureen Murdoch's Heroine's Journey...but it was written for women in my mother's generation (they were the ones with mothers who were homemakers. Gen X were the ones whose mothers were off at work and so it was a different "separation" experience. Plus we were the first generation to be products of divorce at least on a large scale. And therefore our relationships with our mothers were very different than the ones portrayed in Murdoch's book))so I always felt there were parts of the story that weren't mine. It is still a classic and has a lot of value but I am happy to see a fresher version. Can't wait to check her out.
Thanks for reading, Dina! Although I love Murdoch's book, I agree with your assessment. But The Heroine's Adventure is different from Murdoch's approach as well. We use story structure as the guideline for multiple journeys and project planning type life planning, which is more practically applicable than the overall single life arc investigation.
I’m going to be on the lookout for Cosabella bralettes now. I wear very unsexy Swiss Calida bralettes and their hipsters… kind of Briget Jones boring but so comfortable! I hate bras, and thongs 😂 Currently lounging braless! Yay! And there was something else I wanted to comment on because I enjoyed this interview, but my brain has gone to have a nap…
OMG, same! :) Have waaaay too many boring Bridget Jones bras. 😂 Currently lounging free range and thinking of that very silly Emma Thompson story of being mistaken for a 50-year-old naked man on her land in Scotland. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-qfAINQcjI
Yeah I always have the issue with the stomach roll up with some of those bands! I love Cosabella as a brand so this is very exciting. Also, just big ❤️ to you and your work. I changed careers and went out on my own a year and a half ago and I’m a new person. There’s a lot of self work and appreciation and growth to it all.

Hahaha...Isn't Lisa-Marie amazing? And yes, a plan is in motion!
Just wait until this week's EQ!
I wish the reframing also made me sweat less! Thanks for reading, Susan!

Love Vivaia... especially their more whimsical options: https://www.vivaia.com/item/round-toe-embroidered-loafers-audrey-p_10026051.html?gid=10009518
Thanks for reading, Donna! Vivaia is as comfortable as it looks...although very difficult to spell. ♥️

She IS a "grower of Heroines!" but without ever forcing perfectionism on the person. And she KNOWS her archetypes--like nobody's business!!!
Thanks for reading, Kimberly! I love my new nickname. 🌱🌱🌱

Thanks for reading, Francesca! You will be surprised to hear that I forget I have my Cosabella on.

Eek! I’d never seen that ET (!) story! Hilarious! Happy free range lounging my dear. I feel a poem brewing…
Love cosabella bras and didn’t know they had bralettes for 36G. This is a game changer. Loved all
Of this and the new non underwire find
Thanks for reading, Beth! The bras truly changed my life. The longline are so good because they don't roll up and under the boobage.
