The Empress Nookie Series: Practical Magic & WILE WOMAN's LIBIDO 🐈⬛ 🧹 ✨
Something about tinctures just brings out this Empress's inner witch!
Fellow Empresses,
Once, when I was four years old, while my mother was having tea with a friend, I snuck into her purse and ate all her birth control pills in the adorable pink plastic case. What??? They looked EXACTLY like Smarties. Remember Smarties? Those pink, yellow, and green little candies, so tart and sweet and wonderful? They were practically identical. My mother and her friend were, of course, horrified.
I mean, the looks on their faces. Oh, SHIT... She is FOUR. Is she going to sprout BOOBS and pubes right here in the tea shop?
NO ONE knew what to do. Poison Control did not EXIST in 1970-whatever. I was fine, but is it any wonder I would grow up to have a complex relationship with hormones?
Fast forward ten years, and say hello to a totally randy teenager, subject to suicidal (or at least very dramatic) PMS, raging cramps, later post-partum depression, and then, of course... now, the absurdities of peri/menopause and what that does to your libido.
And let’s face it, desire depends on a lot of things:
Your overall mood with where you are in life, for starters.
The amount of SLEEP you're getting. Seriously, if you're waking up drenched in torrential night sweats or dealing with protracted insomnia, you might be too exhausted to feel like getting down—even for angry day sex.
Then, there's your current connection to your partner and what state your relationship is in. Do you still remember each other on an intuitive, erotically intelligent level? Do they still blow your skirt up? Or are things a touch perfunctory in that department? True, there is some comfort in the safe and familiar.
What about your basic stress levels with family, work, or finances? Nothing says female boner killer like overwhelming credit card debt, plus compound interest rate inflation. And, who knew the price of milk could make you feel so unsexy?
Let’s also not forget your recent medical history. If you've just come through breast cancer and multiple rounds of chemo, it might take a WHOLE lot of work to get back to feeling even close to amorous as you are a complex, interconnected being with multiple physiological, emotional, and spiritual dynamics in constant play and that’s without even without factoring in hormones... The one true thing is that nothing stays the same. Something will always shift. That much, you can count on.
Now, I'm not sure what it is about tinctures, but there’s something in the very concept that unleashes my inner witch. Maybe it's my overall “I-watched-too-much-Charmed” in the 90s curiosity about the herbal potion-y characteristics that makes me hearken back to the Wiccan women of yore (and of well, NOW). The idea of some cool ladies off formulating their magic in some woodsy corner of the world where everything is lush and organic and made with mushrooms and whatnot has me super curious about WILE WOMEN’s LIBIDO tincture and so you ARE going to get my review. Eventually.
Because here's the thing... the good people at WILE WOMEN were supposed to send me a sample of LIBIDO tincture to test drive except before they could do so, the durn thing sold out!
Apparently, YOU all got to try it before we did. So, we're stuck like Sally and Gillian from Practical Magic trying to cook up something from an old grimoire in the kitchen to bring hunky Goran Visnjic (who is our libido) back to life. Thanks a lot, people. (Kidding, that zillions of you are experiencing pleasure from a new potion in peri/menopause is magic enough for us!)
The LIBIDO tincture, which has some serious plant chemistry going on, involves ingredients including Maca, long used as a traditional aphrodisiac, energizer, and stamina-booster, Damiana, traditionally used as an aphrodisiac as well as to relax the mind, Passionflower, commonly used in all manner of teas and infusions to soothe worry, Muira Puama, a time-honored Brazilian medical remedy for sexual desire, Shatavari, an uplifting adaptogen common in Ayurvedic medicine to boost desire, response, and vaginal vitality, and Pueraria Mirifica an ancient phytoestrogen “youth” herb often used to support vaginal health.
So, while we're crazy-curious and still a tad dead inside from general menopausal goings-on (which is probably also due to the state of the world right now more than anything else), here's what women who have tried it are saying about LIBIDO...
“Worked for me. Really helped me get out of my head. Had a much better O.”
“This really works! I will definitely continue to use this to enhance our sexual experiences and help to release stress and tension.”
“Very Helpful! Goes right under the tongue for fast absorbency and quick reaction. Look for this brand.”
We sincerely hope it's all true. If YOU have tried WILE WOMEN’s LIBIDO tincture, we'd love to hear from you in the comments below or on IG, that is, if you're not still too busy doing it. Ha!
But here's the other thing to consider... even if the tincture actually did nothing for you physiologically, the placebo effect is strong magic as well. If that worked, and you still got some good nookie out of it, then the product is still valid. Right? Thoughts? Let us know yours.
Until next time.
Yours in Grandeur,
